SNL Pokes Fun At President Biden's Declining Support Among Voters

Joe Biden White house U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House

During a recent segment of 'Weekend Update' on 'Saturday Night Live,' President Biden was humorously compared to the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore, Maryland. Comedian Michael Che quipped that Biden would visit the site of the bridge collapse because, like the bridge, he is no longer connecting with Black communities. This joke was met with laughter from the audience, with Che's colleague Colin Jost reacting with a surprised 'wow.'

A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released in January revealed a decline in Biden's support among Black voters, dropping to 63% from the 92% he received in the 2020 presidential election. Similarly, his support among Hispanic voters has decreased to 34% from 59%.

'SNL' has recently shown a willingness to poke fun at Biden and his administration. In early March, the show mocked Biden and his allies who defend his mental sharpness and energy 'behind closed doors.'

Not only has 'SNL' targeted Biden, but he has also become the subject of jokes on international sketch-comedy shows. An Italian comedic sketch show featured a skit in which comedian Maurizio Crozza portrayed President Biden, highlighting his mental fitness. In one viral sketch, Crozza, as Biden, appeared confused and disoriented during a White House press conference, struggling to recall world leaders' names.
