Pick your Leeds United XI as Daniel Farke era starts with Man United test in Oslo

Leeds United return to action this afternoon, 45 days since they were unceremoniously dumped out of the Premier League. A 4-1 defeat at home to Tottenham marked the end of a three-year spell in the top flight and closed the book - EFL ratification pending - on Andrea Radrizzani's time pulling the strings at the club.

While 49ers Enterprises await the EFL's green light, the club has been able to appoint Daniel Farke as their new manager and the former Norwich City boss will be tasked with ensuring Leeds return to the top flight at the earliest opportunity. His task is not as straightforward as he would like though, as he has to contend with a squad that contains a number of players with uncertain futures while he waits to make his own mark in the transfer market.

A host of players were able to return to pre-season training last week, with some of his international charges returning on Monday following a slightly longer break. After a week of getting to know his players and what he has to work with, Farke will name his first starting XI in Oslo this afternoon, as Leeds take on Manchester United in their first preseason friendly.

But who gets the nod? Should Farke give runs out to the international contingent that only returned this week? Should he sideline those with uncertain futures? Is pre-season the perfect opportunity to give minutes to some of the promising young players in his squad?
