Padma Lakshmi, known for her beauty and talent as an author and producer, is now venturing into the world of comedy. After stepping down as the host of 'Top Chef,' she has revealed plans to develop a comedy series with director Paul Feig, known for his work on 'Bridesmaids.' This new project will see Lakshmi both producing and starring in the series.

In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Lakshmi expressed her interest in comedy, stating that she finds humor to be a valuable trait. She has been a regular performer at the Comedy Cellar in New York City and sees comedy as more than just a hobby.

Lakshmi's comedic aspirations have led her to take classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade and make a cameo appearance on 'Saturday Night Live.' Encouraged by the positive feedback, she aims to return to the show as a host in the future.

Recently, Lakshmi hosted a sold-out comedy show titled 'Padma Puts On a Comedy Show,' where she collaborated with fellow comedians Phoebe Robinson, Michelle Buteau, and Jaboukie Young-White. She described this experience as a way to explore her wilder and zanier side in a safe space among friends.

Despite her growing interest in comedy, Lakshmi remains cautious about how she presents herself, avoiding sharing her comedic endeavors on social media to protect her career. She acknowledges that she is still learning and evolving in this new creative pursuit.
