Nottingham Forest confirm midfielder transfer as busy window continues

Nottingham Forest midfielder Braian Ojeda has joined MLS side Real Salt Lake on loan - with an option to buy.

Ojeda will linked up with the American club on a season-long deal, though the move could be made permanent at the end of it. He becomes the latest Forest player to move on in what has been a busy transfer window so far, with more set to follow.

The Reds said in a statement on Thursday night: "Nottingham Forest can confirm that midfielder Braian Ojeda has joined MLS side Real Salt Lake on a season-long loan deal, with the option to buy.

"The Paraguay international joined The Reds from Olimpia last August, making three appearances in the Sky Bet Championship under Steve Cooper last season.

"The 22-year-old will now link up with Real Salt Lake for the remainder of their season. Pablo Mastroeni's side currently sit fifth in the MLS Western Conference table.

"We wish Braian all the best for his loan spell in the USA."

Real Salt Lake confirmed that Ojeda will join them "pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and work visa".

“Braian is a dynamic, two-way midfielder who will bring another option to our already talented group in the center of the pitch,” said RSL General Manager Elliot Fall. “He is a player hungry to compete and develop, while also bringing valuable international experience from his time with Nottingham Forest and Paraguay. We look forward to getting him on the ground in Salt Lake and competing for minutes soon.”
