NFL Network Drops Michael Irvin, Long-Running Popular Show

Michael Irvin will no longer work at NFL Network as he was part of the company's layoffs on Friday, The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported. Irvin first joined the network as an analyst in 2009.

Irvin was suspended by the NFL Network in Feb. 2023 after a woman accused him of improper behavior at a hotel during the Super Bowl in Arizona. Irvin then sued the woman and the Marriott hotel he was staying at, and the $100 million defamation suit was settled in September, allowing him to return to the network.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer mostly appeared on the Sunday show NFL GameDay Morning before that week's slate of games.

Additionally, NFL Network has ended one of its longest running shows NFL Total Access after two decades. The last episode of the show is expected to air on Friday, May 17. Irvin regularly appeared on the popular show.

Marchand reported that NFL Total Access' slot will be replaced by NFL Network's Insiders show, which includes reporters Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero.
