During her round, Korda enjoyed the support of around 100 fans, who cheered her on as she navigated the course just miles away from New York City. Notably, a group of five women sported T-shirts proclaiming 'Everyone Watches Nelly Korda,' underscoring her growing popularity among spectators.

Sagstrom, the early frontrunner, attributed her success to the course's suitability to her game and adjustments made with her coach. With six birdies, an eagle, and a lone bogey, the Swede positioned herself well for the upcoming rounds.
