NASA Opens Call For Next Class Of Astronauts

Nasa wants to send new astronauts to unexplored areas of space

Have you ever dreamed of becoming an astronaut? Well, now might be your chance as NASA has officially opened applications for its next class of astronauts. The competition is tough, with the previous callout attracting a staggering 12,000 applicants. Despite the high number of applicants, NASA is encouraging a diverse pool of candidates to apply.

There are specific requirements for those interested in applying. Firstly, applicants must be US citizens. Secondly, a master's degree or equivalent in a STEM field is necessary. However, individuals with a background as a pilot, medical doctor, or those pursuing a PhD in a STEM field can also meet this requirement. Additionally, candidates must have at least three years of related professional experience and pass the NASA long-duration flight astronaut physical.

NASA's Astronaut Selection team is looking for individuals who possess strong technical skills, leadership qualities, teamwork abilities, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidates should have a multidisciplinary background and diverse life experiences.

Selected candidates will undergo further assessments at NASA, focusing on teamwork and the ability to overcome challenges together. Training for astronauts includes learning how to live and work on the space station, mastering robotics, extravehicular activities (EVA), and jet flying.

If you believe you meet the requirements and have what it takes to be an astronaut, submit your application before the deadline on April 2. This could be your opportunity to reach for the stars and explore the wonders of space.
