Marlay Park slammed as 'absolute joke' after concert goers forced to walk 7km back to hotel

Red Hot Chilli Peppers' fans were left fuming after Wednesday night's show after some faced a 7km walk back to their hotel as no transport was available.

Concert goers praised the legendary band's performance but were left with a bitter taste in their mouths after struggling to find taxis to get them home.

Last night's show was the third this week to hit Marley Park, following Green Day on Monday and Guns N Roses on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, exhausted fans said: "Legitimately walked 7km to our hotel from marlay park after red hot chilli peppers what a load of sh**".

Others branded the situation an "absolute joke", saying they couldn't believe that they actually managed to get a taxi.

They said: "It was over 90m after we started trying to get a taxi around Marlay Park before we actually got to sit in one. Tried FreeNow, Uber, flagging cars by hand, ringing taxi companies.. everything. It was an absolute joke."

A second said: "The chili peppers were amazing tonight but getting out of marlay park was an absolute joke! Simply not good enough this day in age all been barricaded in with only one exit."

While a third said: "More of a chance of playing for United than getting a taxi from Marlay park after a concert. F*** me you might as well be coming from Bangladesh".

The news comes after Green Day fans were left fuming after they had to join a huge queue to get into Marlay Park on Monday.

People attending the concert claimed there was only one entrance open which meant the queue stretched over 1.5km long around the perimeter of the park.

Many took to social media to complain about the gig's organisation with one calling it a "disaster".

One man wrote: "1.8km away from Marlay Park and ONE entrance open! No toilets or staff for updates along the way."

A second wrote: "Anyone know whats happening at #marlaypark stuck in massive queue with little movement."

Someone posted pictures of people queuing for the gig, writing: "The state of the queue to get in to Marlay Park. Surely @mcd_productions should have made safer arrangements for people!!! Actually standing on the side of a road with traffic passing."

Another said: "@mcd_productions Ye make Dublin airport look competent. Disaster here at Marlay park for @GreenDay @Weezer @falloutboy."
