High Risk Of Severe Weather In Southern Kansas And Oklahoma

Severe storm strikes Buenos Aires

Residents in southern Kansas and central Oklahoma are urged to stay vigilant as the risk of severe weather tonight is dangerously high. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasters, there is a greater than 95% probability of two or more tornadoes occurring in the region.

The NWS office in Norman, Oklahoma, has also issued a warning stating that there is a 90% chance of at least one strong tornado, ranging from EF2 to EF5, touching down in the area. Additionally, the likelihood of experiencing 10 or more storms with hail larger than 1 inch is at 80%, while the probability of encountering 10 or more severe wind events with speeds of 58 mph or stronger is at 70%.

Given the high risk of severe weather, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. It is recommended to stay informed about the latest weather updates and warnings, seek shelter in a sturdy building if a tornado warning is issued, and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.
