Gogglebox star Ellie Warner shares pregnancy health update as she prepares to welcome baby

Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has revealed she has a pregnancy-related health condition.

The 32-year-old is expecting her first child with partner Nat Eddleston, and the couple can't wait to meet their baby boy. During Friday night's episode of the Channel 4 show Ellie said she had gestational diabetes.

She made the comment while watching The Apprentice. Making a joke about business mogul, Lord Alan Sugar, the star told her sister Izzi: "Alan Sugar is my only sugar fix now I have got gestational diabetes."

Gestational diabetes can develop during pregnancy in women who don't already have the diabetes, reports the Mirror. High blood sugar can develop at any time during pregnancy, but it's more common in the second or third trimester, usually disappearing after the baby is born.

Treatment focuses on managing blood sugar levels through diet, exercise and sometimes medication. Ellie announced she was expecting a baby on Boxing Day, after a difficult year as her partner Nat recovered from a near death accident.

Nat was struck by a car while walking home after a night out in Leeds in March. Ellie immediately took time off from work and Gogglebox to be by her boyfriend's side.

Thankfully by May, Nat was at home and appeared to be recovering well. Seven months later, the couple announced they were expecting a child. Ellie revealed the gender of her little one during a recent episode of Gogglebox.
