If Kieran Donnelly’s men are to challenge for promotion to Division Two, they need to come away with at least a draw against the high-flying Mournemen.
Down, who will be without the influential Barry O’Hagan for the rest of the season after he sustained a cruciate injury against Antrim, were fortunate to clinch a last-gasp win over the Saffrons earlier this month.
With Offaly and Cavan also claiming full points from the opening two rounds, Conor Laverty’s men cannot afford to concede ground at this juncture.
