EastEnders' Linda Carter horrified as she gets fresh news relating to Mick Carter

Linda Carter was left horrified on EastEnders this evening as she received fresh news relating to her late husband Mick Carter.

Mick - played by Danny Dyer - died in tragic scenes last year when he tried to save Linda from the cold English Channel after Janine careered her car off the Dover cliffs trying to run away.

As he jumped in to save Linda, it is believed he drowned and died in the heartbreaking accident whilst Janine was arrested for what she had done and given a prison sentence for her crimes.

However, tonight on the BBC soap, Linda received some news relating to Mick.

Speaking to her mum Elaine, she shared: "I knew it was coming but it hurts," as George handed her some tea.

"I need something stronger than a sweet tea. I’m sorry, she will have the sweet tea but I will have a large Gin Dubonnet," Elaine chimed in as George headed to the bar to get his partner the drink she had requested.

Alone again, Linda shared: "Having him in prison, what sort of start is that in life?"

Elaine tried to reassure her before adding: "From what you said darling, that cow has been working the system. She only got five years, she’ll be out playing happy families soon. But we’re here now and no one gets past George."

Many had feared Linda might depart Walford after Mick's death, but she will actually be a huge part of a number of storylines over the coming month - including a big Christmas death storyline which sees one male resident pass away.

"I'm quite excited about what it might be like for Linda now. Obviously she's going to be sad for a little while because she's there without him but it's like having a blank canvas, this new chapter for her, and I honestly don't know what they've got in store for her," she said, "We came in as a four, initially, then we became a five, but Danny and I were at the heart of that family and I think that even though we haven't been together in the show for the last year, there would always be a Mick and Linda thing while Mick was there... so Linda is just Linda. I don't know what that's going to bring – I'm quite excited!"
