Duca Del Cosma Olivera Golf Shoe Review

Golf Monthly - Howard Boylan.

The Olivera golf shoe from Duca del Cosma is the Italian brand’s standout model for 2024, which has been meticulously handcrafted to create a fashionable sneaker style shoe, and is another model for women to consider as one of the best spikeless golf shoes to hit the market this year.

Olivera is very colorful, similar to G/Fore’s G.112 Kiltie. I counted seven different colors on the upper of Olivera’s cognac/blue/gray version. While you might think this is a mishmash, the combination of colors work really well and the result is a modern looking golf shoe. It’s also available in two other colorways - orchid/pink and lime/gray - made in premium soft leather with the tongue and toe box in durable material, immaculate stitching, plus it also comes with a waterproof bootie system.

Moving onto the midsole, outsole and sole, this is where the technology is packed into this shoe to deliver performance, like You cannot help but notice the heel-strike at the back which juts out. This is designed to provide golfers with more stability when swinging and walking, while the toe counter at the front will protect the material on the top of the shoe through the downswing.

I was not initially a big fan of the heel design because what is an otherwise very stylish shoe, like Duca del Cosma’s Alesi model, makes the Olivera look a bit clunky. However, once on your foot, you don’t really notice it anyway and I was grateful for the performance benefits the shoe delivered.

Straight out of the box, I found them to be true to size and very comfortable, almost on a par with Ecco's Biom C4, and I believe the heel-strike, combined with the high shock absorption midsole, did contribute to my feet not feeling particularly tired after 18 holes.

The Airplay 15 sole technology has been developed with the help of Duca del Cosma’s tour ambassadors. It has three different types of nubs and I felt completely in control wearing these shoes, plus it’s a very durable material, so suitable for all-round use and for wear beyond the golf course.

Olivera is a top of the range shoe, so it comes with a high price tag, but you definitely get a lot of shoe for your money that delivers an admirable performance. Plus, like all Duca del Cosma shoes, you’ll always be top of the style stakes.
