Drew Barrymore's 1920s barn epitomizes quietly luxurious Hamptons style – and it's listed for $8.45 million

Drew Barrymore.

Drew Barrymore is selling her renovated Hamptons barn, on the fringe of the Atlantic, for almost $8.5 million.

The rustic yet charmingly chic home, with roots in the 1920s, is tucked among 1.7 acres in the heart of Sagaponack, a village in the town of Southampton, famously known as part of the Hamptons. The estate sits less than a mile from the Atlantic making beach access a breeze, but if we got the keys to this property, we'd struggle to tear ourselves away, even if it is for an afternoon at the ocean.

The park-like estate comprises a gunite pool, pool house, bocce court, and a series of entertaining areas that uphold the same quiet luxury aesthetic as the home's interiors (much more on that later). The landscape design itself, however, is worth noting, thanks to its specimen trees and flowering gardens that complement the rolling lawns (and offer ample space to enjoy the ocean air).

Barrymore, best known for Charlie's Angels and 50 First Dates, alongside her eponymously named talk show, purchased the home in 2019 for $5.5 million (according to records in PropertyShark). It has appeared on her social media (which, as lovers of her and her interior brand Beautiful, we browse more than we care to admit) since 2019, but now, we expect we'll enjoy a new backdrop soon.

As hinted, the interiors tap into a rustic-chic aesthetic that's so synonymous with its prestigious zip code complete with a cream coastal color palette and original wooden features around the property. However, arguably, no space celebrates the home's history while simultaneously tapping into the quiet luxury design trend quite like the living room. In this space, rich textures soften a neutral color scheme while the exposed serve as a constant reminder of the barn's roots in the early twentieth century.

Described as 'a gracious work of art, instantly captivates' by listing agents Sotheby's International Realty, the subtle yet timeless living area sets the tone for the rest of the rooms that are a masterclass in decorating with neutrals.

The kitchen similarly upholds a pared-back palette – from the wooden kitchen island to the clever room divider that separates the kitchen from the living and dining space.

The kitchen and breakfast nook, which set off a private deck for outdoor dining, are adjacent to a spacious great room, creating a lovely gathering point. However, the aforementioned room divider zones the open-plan space, allowing space to enjoy food and conversation beyond the most functional room of the home.

There are seven bedrooms upstairs, including the main suite with access to one of the five bathrooms. Plus, for an additional visitor room, there's a separate guest house with one bedroom, one bath, a living room, and an office area, which set off an oversized roof deck.
