Dan Osborne pays tribute to Kirstie Alley as he 'cherishes memories' on CBB with actress

Kirstie Alley's reality TV co-star Dan Osborne has paid an emotional tribute to the actress following her tragic death.

It was announced on Monday, the Cheers actress passed away aged 71 surrounded by her closest family after a short battle with colon cancer.

A statement posted from her children on social media through her official accounts said: "We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered."

On hearing the news of her passing, Dan, who starred with Kirstie on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, took to his social media to pay tribute to the Look Who's Talking screen siren.

The TOWIE star posted a number of pictures of the pair getting to know each other on the show alongside a moving tribute.

He penned: “Waking up to such sad news today. Rest in peace to such a lovely woman Kirstie Alley.

“I had the absolute pleasure of spending a month with her in the big brother house. She’s a Hollywood legend, but spending time with her all day every day for a month, she was so down to earth, so kind, so loving & so so funny!

“We had such a laugh in there & they are memories I will cherish forever. My thoughts are with all of Kirstie’s family & friends.” [sic]

Fellow CBB star Ryan Thomas, who shared the iconic house with the actress in the same series, also paid tribute to Kirstie.

“Such a beautiful person inside & out, thank you for the memories we shared. RIP my angel heart,” he wrote alongside a picture of the late actress.

Kirstie’s death was confirmed on Monday in a heartbreaking statement from her children.

It read: "To all our friends, far and wide around the world... We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.

"She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother."

Our mother's zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did."

They concluded by sharing their thanks for "your love and prayers".
