Clement's Rangers transfer wishlist predicted with two key additions identified

Kenny Miller has predicted that Philippe Clement will be looking to add at least two new players to his Rangers squad in the January transfer window.

The Belgian gaffer landed his first trophy as Ibrox boss on Sunday as Gers lifted the League Cup at Hampden against Aberdeen.

James Tavernier proved to be the match-winner and his former teammate Miller was delighted for his former club and he now hopes they can build confidence heading into a key second-half of the season.

Miller also expects Clement to add new faces in January and he reckons a striker and central midfielder will be high on his festive wishlist.

He told Sky Sports: "I would be very surprised if these discussions didn't take place before Philippe Clement was named Rangers manager.

"He will have watched Rangers beforehand, there were pictures and videos of him doing that before he was confirmed.

"He was doing his research. He will have known the squad inside out even before he came in.

"Now he has had two months to work with them. He will know exactly where he needs to strengthen.

"I would imagine Rangers will strengthen. It is a tough market in January to go and get the right players who are going to fit the way you want to play.

"I would imagine you will see a couple of players coming in, maybe one at the top end of the pitch, whether it be that striker or a winger.

"What Sunday and Thursday did highlight is that maybe they are a bit light in the midfield.

"Dujon Sterling playing alongside John Lundstram, both of them were absolutely excellent.

"But I think moving forward Philippe Clement might want a player where that is their specialised position, to go and control the game for Rangers."
