'Tis the season to be jolly, and as Christmas approaches, it's important to be in the know about which stores are open and which ones are closed. While some companies shut their doors entirely on Christmas Day, others opt for reduced hours or are open for business as usual. So, before you embark on that last-minute gift shopping spree or simply want to escape the holiday madness, it's always a good idea to double-check the operating hours of your favorite spots. You wouldn't want to end up standing in front of closed doors with a cart full of presents!

Let's take a closer look at some major chains and how they'll be operating this Christmas Day:

Walmart, the retail giant, will be closed on Christmas Day, but fear not, efficiency enthusiasts, as they will be bright and early with doors reopening at 6 a.m. on December 26th.

Target, the beloved one-stop shop, will also be closed for the big day and plans to greet you with open arms at 7 a.m. on the 26th. Just remember to check your local store's specific hours, and don't get caught in the imaginary post-Christmas shopping rush.

If you're a member of the Costco fan club, keep in mind that all Costco warehouses in the U.S. will be closed on Christmas Day. So, you'll have to find another way to quench your thirst for warehouse deals.

Now, let's talk pharmacies. CVS will mostly operate with their normal hours on Christmas, but some non-24 locations might be closed or have reduced hours. It's always wise to double-check by calling ahead or looking up information online. As for Walgreens, they've got your back. Most of their stores will be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Christmas Day, excluding their 24-hour locations. Remember, it's the season of giving, but don't go giving yourself unnecessary stress by assuming your local Walgreens is open just because it usually is.

Coffee lovers, rejoice! Many Starbucks locations will be open on Christmas, but keep an eye out for differing hours. Starbucks reminds us that their stores 'may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs' throughout the holiday season, so it's best to check online before you make that latte run.

If you're craving some Mickey D's on Christmas Day, you're in luck. While most McDonald's locations will be open, it's important to note that their hours can vary depending on the store. Before dashing through the drive-thru, it might be a good idea to use their online store locator to confirm the golden arches will be shining bright.

Kroger, the grocery store go-to for many, will mostly be closed on Christmas Day, but remember to check with your local store, as it can vary by division and location. And for those who rely on Albertsons, don't fret just yet. While many Albertsons stores will be closed, there will still be some open with adjusted hours. Just make sure to note that select pharmacies may also be closed or have different hours.

Now, let's explore the stores that are closed on Christmas Day. ALDI, Harris Teeter, Home Depot, IKEA, Jewel-Osco, Lowe's, Macy's, Meijer, Publix, Rite Aid, Sam's Club, Sprouts Farmer's Market, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods will all be embracing the holiday spirit and keeping their doors shut on Christmas Day. So, make sure to plan your shopping trips accordingly and avoid any fruitless attempts at sliding through the entrance unnoticed.

But fear not, for there are some stores that are open on Christmas Day, or at least have select locations greeting customers. Safeway will have some stores closed, while others will remain open with adjusted hours, giving you a chance to stock up on holiday goodies. Sheetz, the ultimate convenience store, will be open with its regular hours, keeping the midnight snackers and caffeine addicts well-served, whether it's Christmas or any other day of the year. As for 7-Eleven, most of its stores are open 24/7, including on Christmas, but it's worth noting that some locations might have varying hours. So, if you're craving a late-night Slurpee or need some essentials during the Christmas chaos, 7-Eleven has got your back.

Now that you're armed with the knowledge of which stores are open and closed this Christmas Day, you can plan your holiday activities accordingly. Just remember, when in doubt, make a call or check online to avoid any unnecessary disappointments. Happy shopping, festive folks!
