Christina Applegate's defiant message at what could be her final awards show

Christina Applegate sent out a clear message after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in what could be her final award show appearance.

The Hollywood star stunned fans by sharing the health update, confirming she is living with the incurable neurodegenerative disease.

She took daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble, 12, to the SAG Awards at Fairmont Century Plaza last night - and made her feelings known.

The 51-year-old actress carried a black cane with 'FU MS' written on the bottom.

Leaving it to everyone's imagination to determine what the four letters stood for, she was hell bent on enjoying the bash with her peers, friends and family.

Sharing her news on Twitter, Christina explained that she had been diagnosed with the condition months before and receiving care and support as she battled the health issue.

She wrote: “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS.

“It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.

“It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it.”

Continuing in a second tweet, Christina showed resilience and a dignified determination not to let the disease get her down.

She wrote: ”As one of my friends that has MS said ‘we wake up and take the indicated action’. And that’s what I do.”

She added: “So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo”.

Fans and followers were quick to show their support for the actress, bombarding her with many nice messages.

It's not her the first health battle she has faced.

Reflecting on her cancer fight in 2010, Christina thought back to the moment she was diagnosed, telling US Weekly: "I was just shaking and then also immediately, I had to go into 'take-care-of-business-mode,' which included a change to a more healthy diet."
