Catherine Zeta-Jones manages to avoid crowds on empty London Underground train

Catherine Zeta-Jones surprised fans on social media by uploading a video of her riding the London Underground.

The 53-year-old actress - who originally shot to fame in the much-loved drama series The Darling Buds of May back in the 90s - can be seen smiling at the camera as she sports a tweed coat and matching baker boy hat along with a scarf and oversized sunglasses.

“Please take your belongings with you when leaving the train,” a female announcer can be heard saying, giving the first hint as to where the Knives Out is.

“When you’re the only one on the Tube and you’re very happy,” she declares, turning her camera to reveal an empty carriage.

Adding: “London, just me, on public transport.”

It’s unclear which line Zeta-Jones was riding, but looks like the Circle or District Line.

“Tube Time! London Transport!” she captioned the post, followed by a thumbs up emoji.

Her 5.1m followers flocked to the comment section to offer their thoughts.

“Such a normal person,” declared one, followed by a clapping, kissy face and red love heart emoji.

“The carriage to yourself! What a treat!!” wrote a second.

While a third simply questioned her choice of eyewear, writing: “Sunglasses??? Underground.”

The clip comes fresh from her appearance at the BAFTA Film Awards 2023 in the capital at the weekend.

The Welsh native lives in New York with her actor husband Michael Douglas, 78, with whom she shares two children.

She was in town to present Best Picture to German war film All Quiet On The Western Front, which swept the board at the annual award ceremony where it took home seven gongs.

Uploading a series of snaps of her on the red carpet at the star-studded event, Zeta-Jones wrote: “Honoured to be back in my home country amongst such talent to present Best Picture to ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ Bravo! Thank you.”.
