Cardinals re-sign DL L.J. Collier to 1-year contract

The Arizona Cardinals are bringing back defensive tackle L.J. Collier. First reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Collier is re-signing with Arizona on a one-year contract, per his agent. The team announced the actual signing as well.

Collier, a former first-round draft pick, signed a one-year contract as a free agent last year. However, his season lasted only one game as he tore his biceps, which ended his season. He had three tackles in the season opener against the Washington Commanders.

Per his agent, Collier is “excited to be a Cardinal.”

Throughout training camp and in the preseason, Collier looked good, providing disruption on the defensive interior.

In five NFL seasons, he has been healthy in only one season. He has played in 46 games, starting 17, and has 42 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 13 quarterback hits, six tackles for loss and five pass breakups.

A healthy Collier will be huge for Arizona’s defense. But the question is whether he can stay healthy.

It is a good first start for Arizona in free agency.
