Bruno Fernandes vows to stay at Manchester United - as long as the club want him

Bruno Fernandes vowed to stay at Manchester United for as long as the club want him.

The Portugal international is a target for clubs in the centrally-run Saudi Pro League this summer, alongside teammates Raphael Varane and Casemiro.

Varane has already confirmed his decision to leave upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the season, though Erik ten Hag has denied suggestions almost the whole of the United squad is up for sale after a turbulent season.

Fernandes returned from injury to play a key role in United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle on Wednesday night. The United skipper played in the corner from which Amad Diallo fired in a thunderous strike to give the hosts the lead after Anthony Gordon had cancelled out Kobbie Mainoo’s opener.

Rasmus Hojlund then added a third to end his 10-game goal drought after Fernandes had teed up him.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for Fernandes but the 29-year-old vowed to pledge his future to the Old Trafford giants, as long as they want him.

“I will be here until when the club wants me and the club wants me to be a part of the future,” he told Sky Sports.

“If for some reason they don’t want me, then I will go.”
