Britney Spears And Sam Asghari Finalize Divorce Settlement

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari appear at the Los Angeles premiere of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" on July 22, 2019. Spears has reached a divorce settlement with her soon-to-be-ex-husband Asg

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have officially finalized their divorce, marking the end of their nearly two-year marriage. The dissolution was approved by a Los Angeles County judge, following the couple's submission of a divorce settlement. This development comes shortly after Spears settled ongoing issues with her father regarding her conservatorship.

The couple filed court documents indicating an agreement on asset division, with no future spousal support for either party. Asghari, who initially sought financial support, will not receive it. Any potential disputes will be resolved through private arbitration.

Spears and Asghari separated in July, with Asghari filing for divorce in August. The pair, who had been together for seven years, did not have any children together, eliminating the need for a custody agreement.

In her memoir, Spears revealed that she and Asghari had experienced a miscarriage shortly before their wedding. The marriage, held in June 2022 at Spears' home and attended by celebrities like Selena Gomez and Madonna, was viewed as a significant moment in her post-conservatorship life.

Following the divorce filing, Spears shared on Instagram that she was not obligated to explain the reasons behind the split, emphasizing her need to alleviate emotional pain. In her memoir, she spoke positively of Asghari, highlighting his support during crucial moments, including her court hearings.

Asghari cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce, a common ground for divorce filings in California. This was Spears' third marriage, having previously been married to Kevin Federline and briefly to childhood friend Jason Alexander.

Spears and Asghari met in 2016 during the filming of her music video for 'Slumber Party.' Their engagement in 2021 was a significant factor in Spears' desire to end her conservatorship, as she expressed a wish to marry Asghari.

Since the conservatorship's termination, Spears has released new music, including a collaboration with Elton John in 2022. However, she has no plans to return to live performances or produce a new album.
