BBC Monty Don's announcement about Gardeners' World leaves fans fuming

Monty Don had some disappointing news for Gardeners' World fans after filming future episodes.

The BBC horticulturist and broadcaster shared an update with viewers about upcoming instalments. He explained Gardeners' World will be off air for two weeks following next Friday's episode.

Monty tweeted: "The end of two days (hot) filming for next week's GW (1.7.22). It is Hampton Court Flower Show the week after that and then we are off air for some reason so will not be back at Longmeadow until July 22nd.

"So it goes every summer when the garden is at its best."

Following his tweet, fans shared their frustration. Eileen said: "What will we do? No #GardenersWorld we can't have that #BBC we need our weekly fix."

Another tweeted: "Very frustrating that the show can't go ahead anyway on iPlayer or some other way."

Anne said: "Oh no, I will miss you and GW! I look forward to it every Friday."

John tweeted: "Why can't the show be shown at another time if the slot is taken by sport or something. Why does the BBC just cancel it. There is so little gardening on TV and GW is really missed when its not on."

And Tara added: "I’ve been missing you Monty! Very sad indeed I’ve been. To get my fix, I’ve been watching Seasons 50 to 53 everyday for past month. Hurry back!"
