Arizona House Speaker: Biden's border policies have failed our country

Arizona Faces Challenges Amid Border Crisis

The ongoing border crisis has been a significant concern for states along the U.S.-Mexico border, including Arizona. Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, Ben Toma, recently shed light on the steps being taken in Arizona to address the influx of illegal immigrants.

Toma emphasized that Arizona is experiencing a surge in border traffic, with an alarming rise in dangerous activities such as cartel and human trafficking, drug smuggling, and the influx of fentanyl. He expressed solidarity with Texas and highlighted the shared understanding amongst Republicans in Arizona, acknowledging the immense challenges faced by their neighboring state. Toma asserted that the failure to secure the border lies with President Biden's administration, and Arizona is now feeling the repercussions.

When asked why there seems to be a lack of concern from Washington regarding the border crisis, Toma stated that it is difficult to provide a definitive answer. He pointed to recent news stories in which Democrats claimed they would focus on the border issue in their campaigns due to the delayed bill in Congress. However, Toma dismissed this as a mere political tactic that would not resonate with the people of Arizona.

As Speaker of the House, Toma revealed that he has devised a plan to address the border crisis. He is working on a bill that aims to prohibit taxpayer-funded welfare or healthcare benefits for illegal immigrants. Toma clarified that the intention is to prevent Arizona from following the trajectory of California. Additionally, he revealed his candidacy for Congress, citing a comprehensive plan that includes finishing the border wall, tripling the number of border security agents, and ending catch and release policies and amnesty for those who enter the country unlawfully.

The Biden administration recently indicated that the president is considering executive actions to address the situation at the border. However, Toma criticized the delay and emphasized that the current state of affairs is a direct result of President Biden's policies.

Toma also mentioned that the Arizona governor has made statements about the border situation but has failed to take concrete action. He placed blame on the Democrats, who he believes are largely in control and responsible for the current border crisis.

The border crisis continues to impact various states, including Arizona. As the situation unfolds, politicians like Speaker Ben Toma are advocating for stricter policies and effective measures to tackle illegal immigration and the associated challenges.
