Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway guest goes 'missing' at key moment in show

Ant and Dec had an awkward few moments on Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend as their star guest announcer 'disappeared' at a crucial moment of the show.

For the second instalment of the ITV show's new series, the Geordie hosts were joined in the studio by social media star, rapper and TV personality Big Zuu, who had the honour of being the guest announcer, following in the footsteps of David Tennant, who took on the role last week.

Big Zuu was in good spirits when Ant and Dec crossed to him in the opening moments of Saturday's edition of Takeaway but, when he was actually needed to announce what was still to come on the programme, he was nowhere to be seen. As the lads looked confused and Ant shouted: "Zuu! Zuu?" he finally walked into the empty voice over booth.

He blamed his 'absence' on going to gather the household items that Ant and Dec had just been asking for in the first game of Ring My Bell this year. The hosts surprised several unsuspecting members of the studio audience by crossing live to their front doors and then appealing to their neighbours to turn up with a chance to win a cash prize.

Zuu appeared back in shot clutching a saucepan and a duvet and, addressing Ant and Dec, said: "Sorry lads, I've been all over the joint. Five hundred quid is five hundred quid mate, come on!"

Zuu's 'disappearance' came moments after Ant 'broke' the rules on Ring My Bell, after a number of neighbours turned up at someone's front door, rather than just one. After they failed to identify who pressed the doorbell first, Ant broke with usual show protocol to tell them they could all share the money.
