Airline launches flights from Scottish airport to popular island for the first time

AN airline is launching a new flight from Glasgow to a popular island destination for the first time.

Tui UK is expanding its holiday offering of winter flights and will now operate a direct flight from Glasgow Airport to Sal in Cape Verde.

The new addition brings TUI's winter 23/24 flight offerings to 18 destinations for those hoping to chase the sun in the colder months.

It also coincides with a rise in popularity for Cape Verde as it offers year-round hot temperatures and fantastic all-inclusive resorts.

A six-hour flight brings visitors to white-sand beaches, coastal towns and modern hotels.

Sal's range of traditional restaurants, city-sized resorts and water sports activities also make it Cape Verde's most popular island holiday hotspot.

Flights from Glasgow will begin weekly from Friday November 3.

Phillip Iveson, Commercial Director for Tui UK&I, said: “We’re extremely excited to start taking guests from Glasgow to Sal.

"Cape Verde is an incredible holiday destination which is great value and I’m thrilled that we’re now able to give visitors from Scotland the opportunity to discover a winter sun destination they may not have thought of previously.’’
