The incident is said to have occurred near to Knowsley Safari Park. A representative for the attraction said that it did not take place on its own grounds but nearby.
There had been reports that the park’s rhino enclosure was closed today but the representative said that this was pre-planned and had nothing to do with the air ambulance landing nearby .
Staff at Knowsley Safari park told the ECHO this afternoon that the remainder of the park was fully operational and no different from a normal working day.
