Woman discovers proper way to use ice scraper - and it will clear your windows in seconds

Many of us up and down the country will have woken up to some pretty cold weather this morning - including snow and ice.

This latest cold snap is affecting the whole country with freezing winds and snow in many parts, leaving Met Office weather warnings in place across the UK.

In this harsh weather, our cars are suffering too and a frozen windscreen is the last thing you want to deal with in a rush before work.

Thankfully, one woman has noticed a pretty nifty way to speed up the process of getting ice off your car which could save a lot of time.

This realisation should save her plenty of time going forward (@charlottebrown/TikTok)

Charlotte Brown, 25, has admitted she'd always used the flat side of her ice scraper, having had no clue whatsoever that the dented side - which she'd assumed was merely decorative - would be a far more effective way to shift the ice.

Taking to TikTok, Charlotte, from Hertfordshire, showed the difference it made once she realised and flipped her scraper around - allowing her to clear the ice in a matter of seconds.

In a TikTok video that has clocked up 115.2k views and counting, Charlotte could be seen demonstrating the difference changing sides made, marvelling, “Look how much quicker that is".

Addressing her followers, Charlotte, who goes by the username @charlottebrown, said: “I must be like dumb because literally I never knew that's what that side was for. I thought it was just decoration. It comes off within seconds.”

Thinking back on all the time she's wasted, Charlotte added: "And there's me sat there for hours trying to defrost the car at times."

Many of her followers could relate all too well, with one person commenting: "I never knew that, not me fighting with mine every morning."

Another wrote: "I never knew either. Learning more off TikTok than I did at school Lool."

A third person laughed: "I just learned this too. It works."
