Who are the Furys? Names to know from the new Netflix show dropping today

At Home with the Furys is a new Netflix series that follows the lives of boxing champion Tyson Fury and his family.

Filmed as Tyson prepares for his retirement at the age of 35, the nine-part show invites cameras into his luxury home and gives viewers a sneak peek into the Furys’ daily lives.

In the opening scenes, Tyson reveals that his brother Tommy Fury and his Love Island beau Molly-Mae Hague will also be starring in the show. Others that play a prominent part include Tyson’s wife, Paris, their six children (three of which are named Prince), and his father, John.

The Fury family is known for its long history in boxing. However, it wasn’t until Tyson, also known as the Gypsy King, became the heavyweight champion of the world, that the family’s spot in the limelight was firmly cemented.

Here, we’ll unpack everything you need to know about the stars of the new Netflix show.

Tyson introduces himself in the opening scenes as the “unbeaten heavyweight champion of the world”. Born and raised in Manchester and coming from a family of Irish travellers, Tyson was introduced to the world of boxing at an early age before quickly going professional.

Throughout his professional boxing career, Tyson has held multiple titles including two-time Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World.

Aside from his boxing career, Tyson has been married to Paris Fury since 2008 and the couple share six children. Out of the ring, Tyson has also been very open about his mental health struggles and has since become a mental health advocate. Since being diagnosed as bipolar, Tyson has used his platform as a boxing champion to spread awareness and support people dealing with their mental health.

Paris and Tyson first met in 2006 when they were teenagers and went on to get married two years later. Also born to a traveller family, the mum-of-six has been by Tyson’s side throughout his whirlwind boxing career.

She’s also carved a name for herself by appearing on TV shows such as Loose Women.

Tyson has also admitted in the past that Paris was one of the reasons why he had chosen to retire from boxing. Speaking to BT Sport in 2022, he said: “I promised my lovely wife, Paris, of 14 years, after the [Deontay] Wilder III fight that would be it and I meant it.” However, he has returned to the ring since making that statement.

Tommy Fury

The world was first introduced to Tommy Fury when he made his debut on ITV2’s Love Island in 2019. During the show, it emerged that Tommy was Tyson Fury’s younger half-brother. The siblings, who have the same dad, appear to share a strong bond despite their 11-year age gap.

As well as enjoying a stint on Love Island, Tommy has also followed in his sibling’s footsteps and pursued boxing professionally. The brothers have even trained together in the past and supported each other during matches.

In 2023, Tommy took victory in a boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul. Tyson had been helping Tommy prepare for the fight and even suggested that “if Tommy can’t splatter Jake Paul, I’ll retire him from boxing myself. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, forget about boxing”.

In the upcoming Netflix show, Tommy will star alongside his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.

Molly-Mae Hague also found fame on Love Island when she met Tommy. The couple have been together ever since and recently welcomed their first baby together. They also confirmed their engagement in July 2023.

As well as being a reality star, Molly-Mae boasts a huge YouTube following and became the creative director of the fashion brand Pretty Little Thing. She stepped down from the position in June 2023 to focus on motherhood.

‘At Home with the Furys’ was filmed just before the couple welcomed their daughter, Bambi. The show features several scenes where they talk about the excitement of becoming parents.

John Fury

John Fury is the dad of Tyson and Tommy, as well as their three brothers Shane, John, and Roman. Born in Ireland, Fury Snr. is also a former boxer and had previously taken part in several bare-knuckle matches and 13 pro-boxing bouts.

Speaking in the ITV documentary, Tyson Fury – The Gypsy King, John explained that he named his son Tyson after the formidable boxer, Mike Tyson. He then went on to become Tyson’s coach, supporting his son as he rose through the boxing ranks.

John is another key figure in the new Netflix series, appearing alongside Tyson and Tommy in multiple scenes and offering his sons advice.

Tyson and Paris’ six kids

The Fury family is always growing. Tyson and Paris share six children called: Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia Amber, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two. The couple’s energetic brood also stars in the fly-on-the-wall Netflix series, which features Tyson doing the school run and spending quality time with his kids.

The couple also confirmed earlier this year that they were expecting their seventh child together. Sharing the news on social media, Tyson wrote at the time: “All is not lost! I get to date night with my beautiful pregnant wife @ParisFury1. God is great! What a woman 👩. 7th 👶 incoming 🙏. Fantastic news to cheer me up! 😊.”
