Unsupervised learner driver stopped after doing seatbelt up - without being in it

Officers have stopped a learner driver after committing multiple offences. On Wednesday, July 12, Derbyshire Police shared how a driver had fastened a seatbelt, but had fastened it against the seat rather then wearing it correctly.

The driver, who was stopped in Shirebrook near the Nottinghamshire border, was also a provisional license holder who was driving unsupervised. Officers also found that the driver had no insurance.

In a tweet, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stated: "Shirebrook. See how this driver has carefully fastened his seatbelt?

"Unfortunately he forgot to put himself between it and the seat. He also forgot he is a provisional licence holder, unsupervised and has no insurance. The walk of shame."
