U2 Releases Remastered Collection Of 'Discothèque' Remixes And B-Sides

U2 releases 'Discothèque (Remastered 2024)' with remixes and alternate versions.

Irish rock band U2 has recently released a new collection of remixes and alternate editions of their single 'Discothèque,' marking the beginning of a year-long series of musical re-releases. The album-length set features 12 songs, with various takes on the decades-old hit. The new album, titled 'Discothèque (Remastered 2024),' includes remixes such as the DM Deep Club Mix, Howie B, Hairy B Mix, and the Hexidecimal Mix, among others.

In addition to the remixes of 'Discothèque,' the collection also features two versions of a lesser-known track titled 'Holy Joe,' presented in both a Garage and Guilty Mix, both of which have been remastered for this release. U2 has announced that this release is part of a series titled 'To Love and Only Love, Deep Dives and B-Sides,' which will consist of a dozen single collections throughout the year.

'Discothèque' was originally released in 1997 as the lead single from U2's album 'Pop,' and it achieved commercial success by reaching No. 10 on the Hot 100 chart. The band's decision to focus on digital platforms for the release of this collection indicates a modern approach to distribution, foregoing physical formats for the time being.

U2's latest musical offering comes on the heels of their successful Las Vegas residency and hints at more exciting projects to come from the iconic Irish group. Fans can expect a year filled with reimagined classics and hidden gems as U2 continues to captivate audiences with their timeless music.
