The fundraising total of $76 million marks an increase from the $65.6 million raised in March. However, Biden and the Democratic National Committee managed to raise approximately $90 million in March, giving the president a considerable financial advantage at the beginning of April.
Despite the initial deficit, Trump and the RNC have seen a surge in fundraising since Trump secured the 2024 GOP nomination in March. Campaign officials are confident in their ability to compete with Biden, with senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles expressing optimism about their fundraising efforts.
With half of the funds coming from small-dollar donors, the Trump campaign emphasizes the energized support from their base. RNC leaders Michael Whatley and Lara Trump echoed this sentiment, highlighting the united front of the Republican Party and the readiness of voters to support Trump's candidacy.
Trump's campaign officials presented their fundraising achievements to donors at the RNC's spring retreat, emphasizing Trump's lead in key battleground states such as Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona.
