Tiernan Lynch hails double boost for Larne as key men sign on again

Tiernan Lynch says having both Lee Bonis and Andy Ryan commit their long-term futures to Larne is a "great boost" ahead of their Champions League qualifier.

The striking duo struck up a great partnership following Ryan's January arrival at Inver Park and were integral in their march to the Irish Premiership title.

As such both players attracted the attention of other clubs following the end of the season, but Lynch was delighted to tie them down with Larne as they have now signed new deals keeping them with the champions until at least 2026.

“As a club, the transfer window give us the opportunity to strengthen our squad as we bring new players in, which we’ve done and will continue to do where possible," said Lynch.

"However, it also gives us a chance to take stock with players already at the club.

“Andy and Lee have been in fantastic form and we were keen to sit them down this summer to see if they were open to extending their time at the club.

“Both players have really enjoyed their time here and it was a very straightforward conversation which led to them both putting pen to paper, either side of the weekend.

“At different stages, we have seen speculation around the future of both players and these new contracts give both them and the club stability to know where they will be playing their football next season.

“Overall, this is a great boost for everyone going into our first Champions League campaign.”

Larne touched down in Helsinki earlier on Tuesday ahead of their first leg against HJK Helsinki tomorrow night.
