The Latest Update for Gran Turismo 7 Introduces EVs

Here's what technology can offer. (Credit: PlayStation)

A new update is now live in Gran Turismo 7 and introduces players to how technology can develop ways that result in endless possibilities. In particular, two new EVs have been added.

The first is the ŠKODA Vision Gran Turismo, which is a single-seater all-wheel drive EV from the distinguished Czech manufacturer. This version was developed exclusively for Gran Turismo and inspired by the Škoda 1100 OHC Spyder racing car from 1957. While this racing concept does pay homage to the legendary predecessor, it also incorporates the defining features seen in the modern solid design language. There's also going to be two unique liveries which are:

  • one reflecting the heritage of the famous Škoda 130 RS racing car from 70́s
  • one inspired by the Vision 7S concept car, which embodies Škodás Modern Solid Design philosophy.

A Revolutionary Mobility Device

Players can also look forward to the AFEELA Prototype 2024 BEV. The appeal of this car is more on how it makes you feel while on a ride. The interior for example features a wide range of features that make sure passengers are never bored. The wide dashboard display spans almost the whole width of the car. This screen not only provides information from the car but also offers several entertainment options. There's also a personal agent feature where passengers get to interact with the car through natural speech.

Offers Incredible Power

While having two new EV are indeed exciting, the new update actually adds another vehicle that players are sure to love. It's none other than the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupe '70 which is rather popular in drag racing. The car was first released in 1964 and underwent a lot of changes to become what it is now. The 454 ci models in particular had two types which was the LS5 and LS6. The LS5 could produce 355 BHP with compression of 10.25:1 while LS5 had 449.7 BHP with compression of 11.25:1.

Other New Content

Update 1.46 also adds Extra Menu No. 38: 'Ferrari 12-Cylinder Engines' (Collector Level 38 and above). Added as well is a featured curation in Scapes called as "san Diego." There are also new events added to 'World Circuits' which include:

  • Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Alsace – Village Reverse
  • American FR Challenge 550: Trial Mountain Circuit Reverse
  • Vision Gran Turismo Trophy: Grand Valley – Highway 1

Gran Turismo 7 was released in 2022 and available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
