The 4 traits Brendan Rodgers says are everything he wants in his team

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers described his side's 5-0 rout of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park to lift their third successive title as "very special".

Goals from Adam Idah, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest and a brace from Matt O'Riley outlined a blistering performance that ensured the Scottish Premiership trophy's return to the Paradise boardroom.

Speaking after the match, the Irishman acknowledged the challenge of this 2023/24 campaign while occasionally dropping to second place, but hailed his squad's mentality and focus in staying course and getting the job done – at the same time underscoring four key traits that defined Celtic's victory in Ayrshire.

"It feels very special," said Rodgers. "It always feels special but this one feels extra-special because of the challenges we've had this season.

"And also how we finished it because that performance was absolutely incredible. Everything I'd want in a team with technique, speed, power and unpredictability, I thought it was immense.

"There was hunger in the team and it looked like we were at the beginning of the season and not at the end. And that was against a really good side in Derek's team who don;t concede many goals."

The Celtic manager then praised his team's attitude and approach on and off the pitch, highlighting the collective humility and honesty that underpins his squad.

He added: "When I see these players work every single day, the humility that they have, the honesty that they have, they're not out there making daft comments, they're just very professional, they do the work and they keep believing.

"I'm so pleased for the players, there's been a lot of negativity around them this season and that goes back all the way to august, but they've stayed with it, kept believing and the performance levels, under pressure, has been fantastic.

"I'm very proud of them and delighted for the supporters."
