Sydney woman charged with dangerous driving over fatal highway crash in regional NSW

A Sydney woman has been charged over a fatal crash that killed a 70-year-old man and left a four-wheel drive suspended above ground on the New South Wales mid north coast. 

The single-car crash occurred on May 26 along the Pacific Highway at Eungai Rail when a silver 4WD left the highway and hit a concrete barrier, before becoming stuck between a rail and the barrier. 

The rear passenger, a man in his 70s, died at the scene. 

The driver and front passenger, both women aged in their 70s, were taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with serious injuries. 

The female driver was arrested at Castle Hill Police Station and charged with several offences including dangerous driving occasioning death. 

Her driver's licence was also suspended. 

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on July 19.
