Swansea City v Luton Town team news as young striker on bench for first time after 18-month injury hell

Swansea City have confirmed their starting line-up for today's Championship clash with Luton Town.

Russell Martin has made two changes to the side that played from the outset against Millwall on Tuesday night.

Ben Cabango starts in place of Kyle Naughton who drops to the bench while Matty Sorinola comes in for Joel Latibeaudiere who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder.

Josh Thomas has been included on the bench for the first time in his career. The striker spent almost 18 months on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury.

He returned to pre-season with a bang this summer, scoring in a 5-0 win over Trefelin BGC while proving lethal in front of goal for the youth side. And he netted for Swansea's Under-21s in their Premier League Cup clash with Arsenal on Monday.

“It was probably the toughest year-and-a-half to two years of my life, you see everyone else go out for training every day and you’re stopped from doing that by something that wasn’t your fault," said the 19-year-old about his long-awaited return to action in July.

“When you’re injured you focus on yourself, you focus on what you’re doing and not as much on the team really, but towards the end of last season I was more involved with the meetings and what was going on so it will be easier to get back into it.

“I’d be watching them day-to-day and picking up things that the other strikers do and what the coaches are saying."

Swansea v Luton gets underway at 3pm. You can follow live updates of the game right here.

Swansea City: Fisher; Wood, Cabango, Darling; Sorinola, Allen, Grimes (C), Manning; Ntcham, Piroe; Obafemi.

Subs: Benda, Fulton, Naughton, Cullen, Thomas, O Cooper, Congreve.
