St. Louis Teen Attacked In Viral Video Faces Uncertain Recovery

Kaylee Gain sustained a fractured skull and life-threatening brain injuries.

The family of a St. Louis teen who was brutally attacked in a viral video near Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake, Missouri, has provided an update on her condition. The incident, which occurred on March 8, left 16-year-old Kaylee Gain with severe injuries.

Gain suffered a fractured skull as a result of the assault, leading to life-threatening brain swelling and bleeding. Despite medical efforts, she has not yet regained consciousness since the attack took place.

Following the assault, a 15-year-old girl was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently facing assault charges in St. Louis County Family Court.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has expressed his concerns regarding the case, advocating for potential charges of murder if the offense is deemed severe enough. Bailey emphasized the need for reform in the juvenile justice system to address such issues effectively.

In response to the incident, friends and family of Gain have launched two GoFundMe campaigns to support her medical expenses and provide updates on her condition. The family expressed gratitude towards the medical staff for their dedicated efforts in treating Gain and maintaining hope for her recovery.

Despite the challenges ahead, the family remains optimistic about Gain's prospects for a full recovery, acknowledging the lengthy journey that lies ahead.

As the community rallies around Kaylee Gain, the case has sparked discussions about accountability within the juvenile justice system and the need for reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future.
