Scottish trans butcher told police he was 'being motherly' to child he abducted

A trans butcher who abducted a schoolgirl while dressed as a woman in the Scottish Borders told cops he was being ‘motherly’ towards the ‘freezing’ child.

Andrew Miller, also known as Amy George, subjected the girl to a 27-hour long sex assault ordeal after driving her to his Scottish Borders home in February this year.

The 53-year-old, who is in the process of transitioning, told investigators that he had just finished watching a Six Nations rugby game when he spotted the girl in Galashiels, reports the Record.

Despite carrying out a catalogue of sordid sex acts on the child, Miller repeatedly told cops he was just ‘trying to be nice’, the High Court in Edinburgh heard.

During a six hour interview, Miller told investigators: "I didn't abduct her, it's all a mistake. She was freezing and I was driving past having been at Crolla's chippy. It was just after the rugby match as I was watching the Italy v France game.

"It was like a motherly thing eh. I was trying to be nice. I put her in bed with me to warm up. Her phone went under a heater and accidentally melted. I don't know why I did it, it's just one of these things. There are a hundred things I should have done.

"I should have phoned the police. I didn't even think of her age. I realised that I was waking up next to (a child) and it went from there and I panicked and thought what the people would think about me having (a child) in my bed.

"She asked to go home, and I said that was fine, but I didn't know how to handle it. I told her to have a shower and gave her wipes. She sat in the bedroom and watched DVDs. It wasn't that I didn't want to take her home.

"I just didn't know what people would think. I was sat in the kitchen thinking what the f*** do I do whilst she watched Finding Nemo and King Kong in the bedroom. I didn't know what to do as I didn't want to get caught.

"I had every intention of telling her that I would take her back tomorrow. I gave her some clothes. She had a top on and some tights on. She went back to sleep, and I fell asleep too. That's when you guys arrived.

"I had had a few drinks as I was nervous. I should never have gotten into this situation. I only asked if she was okay as she looked freezing. I was never inappropriate in any way except for maybe sleeping with her but that was in a motherly way.

"I did enjoy her being here though." Miller, who told police to use male pronouns, also tried to fob off his DNA being found on the child by saying he was a “violent sleeper” and that his “arm may have touched her during the night”.

He also claimed that the girl had told him she was home alone as her family were away on holiday - which was not true.

After being charged with abduction, Miller replied: I didn't abduct (her) she got into the car with her own free will”. We previously told how the brave child managed to call 999 from Miller’s landline phone after he fell asleep beside her.

Officers found him wearing tights, a bra and women’s underwear as well as fake breasts. Miller, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault, abduction, possession of indecent photographs of children and causing a child to look at a a sexual image, will be sentenced at a later date.
