Pulp icon Jarvis Cocker planned Glasgow Banksy exhibition after TRNSMT show

Pulp icon and front man Jarvis Cocker has set his sights on visiting the Banksy exhibition inside Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art, the day after headlining TRNSMT.

The 59-year-old was in a relaxed mood during his big stage appearance and said Glasgow was the furthest north he had been, before getting the crowd singing happy birthday to Ringo Starr as he performed a set of classic hits, The Daily Record reports.

The Common People hitmaker last made an appearance in Glasgow at SWG3 to perform a dance floor meditation in 2018, where he got the audience to lie on the backs on their backs on the floor.

Jarvis, who threw some fudge at the crowd to celebrate World Chocolate Day during his set in Glasgow Green, arrived back at his hotel around midnight.

He told the Daily Record he was enjoying himself during his time here and planned to attend the Banksy exhibition in the city centre within the next few hours.

Jarvis said: ”I haven’t seen Banksy yet, but I will do tomorrow.”

He also signed a fan's CD before heading indoors.

Jarvis and Banksy are believed to be good friends , even contributing a special musical composition for Banksy’s Walled Off hotel in Bethlehem.
