Prosecutor Reveals Details Of Hush Money Payment Arrangement

Cuban ministers reveal details of food, fuel shortages amid economic crisis

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass has revisited the case involving Karen McDougal, a woman for whom Keith Davidson facilitated a hush money payment in exchange for her story of an affair with Donald Trump. Steinglass referenced a Wall Street Journal article from November 4, 2016, during the proceedings.

According to Davidson, he had multiple conversations with Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney, who expressed significant distress over the publication of the article. Cohen was particularly concerned about the timing of the article and was eager to identify its source. He was reportedly upset about the proximity of the article to the 2016 election.

When asked about the timing of the election that year, Davidson admitted uncertainty and mistakenly guessed November 6, when in fact, the election took place on November 8, just four days after the WSJ article was released.

Davidson testified that Cohen, on behalf of Trump, was furious about the article and even threatened legal action against McDougal. The revelations from the testimony shed light on the intense reactions and responses triggered by the publication of McDougal's story during a critical period in the 2016 election cycle.
