Grammy Award-winning artist PJ Morton returned to his hometown of New Orleans with a new album and memoir set to be released soon, coinciding with his performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The festival, which is nearing the end of its eight-day run, provided Morton with a familiar and welcoming stage to showcase his talents.

Morton, the son of well-known preachers in the city, expressed his excitement about performing at Jazz Fest, describing it as a family reunion filled with good food and the opportunity to connect with friends and fans. He emphasized his gratitude for the love and support he receives both in his hometown and during his global performances.

As a keyboardist for Maroon 5 since 2012, Morton has also pursued a successful solo career, releasing several acclaimed albums and earning multiple Grammy Awards. His latest project, 'Cape Town to Cairo,' features a blend of old and new songs inspired by his travels through Africa.

Recently, Morton unveiled his new single, 'Smoke & Mirrors,' which carries a message of defying preconceptions and embracing authenticity. He shared that the creative process behind this project challenged him to trust his instincts and work within set deadlines, ultimately leading to a sense of artistic freedom.

Aside from his musical endeavors, Morton is preparing to release his memoir, 'Saturday Night, Sunday Morning,' offering insights into his personal and professional journey. Through his independent success in the music industry, Morton hopes to inspire others to stay true to their artistic vision.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, featuring a lineup of renowned artists, will conclude its eight-day celebration on Sunday, with performances by Queen Latifah, Neil Young Crazy Horse, Greta Van Fleet, Tab Benoit, and Sonny Landreth.
