Open AI’s GPT-4o can ‘teach maths’ & even ‘flirt’: The Standard podcast

OpenAI rolls out the most advanced ChatGPT ever.

Simon Hunt, The Standards Business & Technology Correspondent, tells Tech & Science Daily about some of its most impressive features revealed at OpenAI’s live event.

The creators say that the new version of ChatGPT offers near-instant results across text, vision and audio. It’s also free to all users.

It comes as AI assistant rival Claude is now available in the European Union.

Claude, developed by Amazon-backed start-up Anthropic, is an AI assistant that is able to perform tasks on behalf of users such as writing essays or summarising information.

It’s already available in the US and UK, and is considered one of OpenAI’s major rivals in the generative AI space.

A study claims that weight loss jabs could reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in obese people, regardless of the amount of weight they lose while on the drug.

The team led by Professor John Deanfield from University College London, used data from the Select trial, which was conducted by semaglutide manufacturer Novo Nordisk, and involved over 17,000 adults over the age of 45 from 41 countries.
