Manchester United Sets Up FA Cup Final Against City

Aston Villa's Moussa Diaby, left, celebrates scoring their second goal of the game during the English Premier League soccer match between Bournemouth and Aston Villa at Villa Park stadium in Birmingha

Manchester United secured a dramatic spot in the FA Cup final against arch-rival Manchester City after a nail-biting semifinal match against Coventry. United squandered a three-goal lead, only to be saved by a VAR offside call in stoppage time of extra time, leading to a 3-3 draw. The Red Devils eventually triumphed in a penalty shootout, winning 4-2 and booking their place in the final at Wembley Stadium on May 25.

The victory, though hard-fought, did little to alleviate the mounting pressure on United manager Erik ten Hag, with the club languishing in seventh place in the Premier League. United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, acknowledged the need for improvement despite the team's FA Cup final qualification.

Manchester City, who defeated Chelsea in the first semifinal, will face United in a repeat of last year's final, which City won 2-1. The upcoming final promises to be a highly anticipated clash between the local rivals.
