LadBaby told Martin Lewis to stop singing as duo recorded Christmas single

Nottingham YouTube celebrity LadBaby Mark Hoyle has embarked on his mission to secure a fifth consecutive Christmas number one. Teaming up with MoneySavingExpert's Martin Lewis to rework the Band Aid song Do They Know It's Christmas?, they are the first act to be allowed to rework the historic 1984 Band Aid song, after receiving permission from Bob Geldof, Midge Ure and the Band Aid Trust.

Last year, LadBaby and his wife, Roxanne - known as LadBaby Mum - became the first act ever to score four consecutive Christmas number ones, by collaborating with Ed Sheeran and Elton John on a sausage roll remix of their previous single, Merry Christmas, renamed Sausage Rolls For Everyone.

Only The Beatles and pop group Spice Girls have come anywhere near close to securing four Christmas number ones on the bounce like the Nottingham couple. The Fab Four had I Want To Hold Your Hand, I Feel Fine and Day Tripper all reach the top of the charts over Christmas in 1963, 1964 and 1965 respectively.

LadBaby's effort this year is titled Food Aid, with half of the money raised going to food bank charity the Trussell Trust and the other half to the Band Aid Trust. Instead of having the help of legendary pop stars, it's money saving guru Martin Lewis who will be providing vocals.

Lewis has grown into a one man industry of money saving advice and has helped millions during times of financial hardship, especially in recent months when the cost of living has soared. However, this isn't where his talents appear to stop, as LadBaby revealed on TV, that the Lewis is a natural singer.

Appearing on BBC Breakfast, Hoyle praised Lewis for his vocal delivery on the line sung by U2 frontman Bono in the original. He said: "We wanted to get someone involved that knows about the struggles that are facing a lot of families at the minute. He [Lewis] more than most helps everyone."

"He has helped me when I wanted to get my mortgage. He was the person I turned to, and I think a lot of people do. He was great and he can sing really well. Everyone was blown away by him. We gave him the Bono line and he delivered. When he first came in we had to encourage him to sing and, by the end of it, we had to tell him to stop."

The music video for Food Aid features a line-up of all-star lookalikes including Stormzy, Boy George, Adele, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, the Gallagher brothers, Sir Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John. LadBaby and Roxanne have previously raised more than £1.2 million for the Trussell Trust through their chart-topping endeavours and branded partnerships.
