In their statement, the District Attorney's office mentioned that if the incident depicted in the video indeed took place in 2016, they would be unable to press charges due to the statute of limitations for assault crimes. They expressed regret over the inability to prosecute such conduct that falls outside the legal timeframe.
As of the latest update, the law enforcement authorities have not brought a case related to the video to the District Attorney's office for review. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has confirmed that they are aware of the video but clarified that there is currently no active investigation against the individual identified in the footage, Mr. Combs.
It is noted that neither Sean Combs nor his legal representatives have issued a response to the video at this time. The situation remains under scrutiny, with the authorities monitoring developments closely.
