Israeli Forces Conclude Operation In Nur Al-Shams Refugee Camp

Aftermath of an Israeli raid at Nur Shams camp

Israeli forces have recently concluded a two-day operation in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp near Tulkarm, located in the occupied West Bank. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the completion of the operation on Sunday. Images captured during the offensive depict concrete slabs and rubble scattered across the area, indicating the intensity of the military action.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 14 individuals, including one child, lost their lives during the raid. The IDF stated that security forces managed to eliminate '10 terrorists' and apprehend 'eight wanted suspects' as part of their 'extensive counterterrorism' mission, which commenced on Thursday.

Violence stemming from Israel's offensive in Gaza has spilled over into the occupied territory since October 7. Tragically, an ambulance driver from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was killed while transporting Palestinians injured in an attack by settlers in the West Bank on Saturday, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Recent data from the Human Rights Watch (HRW) revealed a concerning escalation in Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. The period between October 7 and April 3 witnessed over 700 such attacks, marking the highest level of violence recorded since 2006 when the UN began documenting such incidents.

The surge in violent actions by extremist settlers in the occupied territory has prompted increased sanctions from both the United States and the European Union, reflecting growing international concern over the situation.
