FBI suspect threatens to jump from 31st floor of skyscraper during arrest

A criminal suspect barricaded themselves inside a Manhattan condo building whilst he was being apprehended by police and FBI agents.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Carnegie Hall in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and communicated with the suspect while also setting up a large inflatable on the street below.

The suspect threatened to jump off the window of a 31st-floor window. Footage showed a pair of black-clad legs hanging out of a window.

Another clip captured the suspect leaning even further out of the window with a white drape covering their head, as seen from a nearby skyscraper.

FBI agents ultimately managed to capture the suspect and he was taken to a hospital where he remains for observation.
