Edinburgh police issue image of man in dressing gown after pub was torched

Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man in a dressing gown after a 'fire raising' incident took place at a pub in Currie earlier this year.

The incident occurred at The Abbots Choice Pub, Pentland View, Currie shortly after midnight in the morning of Thursday, February 23.

It is unclear what the extent of the damage was in the boozer or if anyone was hurt but police believe tracing the individual will move on the investigation.

Officers from Police Scotland have now released images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries into the crime.

The man is described as white, aged approximately in his mid 30s to early 40s, potentially with some facial hair, and wearing a light grey dressing gown, light grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers with dark stripes.

Constable Andrew McCrirrick of Wester Hailes Police Station said: “I would appeal to the man or anyone who recognises him to please get in touch as it is important that we trace them as part of our investigation."
