During a recent concert at Hard Rock Live, Ed Sheeran shared an interesting anecdote about his hit song 'Love Yourself.' The British singer-songwriter revealed that when he initially wrote the song for his album 'Divide,' those closest to him didn't think much of it. Sheeran humorously recounted how people's lukewarm reactions to the song led him to give it away.

He mentioned playing the song for Justin Bieber, who decided to include it in his repertoire. The track went on to become a massive success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End chart in 2016 and making Bieber the youngest artist to achieve a No. 1 single on the chart.

Despite the song's success, Sheeran's friends were puzzled as to why he had given it away initially. Sheeran, with a sense of humor, recalled their reactions and how he always had the option to perform the song due to his songwriting credits.

Sheeran delighted the audience at Hard Rock Live by performing 'Love Yourself' during the concert. He is also scheduled to perform as part of the Hard Rock Beach Club's Formula 1 lineup, alongside artists like Don Omar, Kaskade, and Cedric Gervais.

The Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, where Sheeran will be performing, is set to take place on Sunday, with Marc Anthony slated to sing the National Anthem. Sheeran's story about 'Love Yourself' serves as a reminder of the unpredictable journey that a song can take from creation to success.
